HALE O KALAMA
ALE O KALAMA is the Native Hawaiian Health Center of the Foundation. HALE O KALAMA incorporates many aspects of Traditional Hawaiian Health Care.
The first aspect is the understanding of sound Spiritual Health. HALE O KALAMA invites the haumana of Halau O Limaloa a place to meditate, recite their pule and practice utilizing their spiritual processes throughout the day.
The second aspect is the understanding and application of Traditional Hawaiian Herbal Medicines. HALE O KALAMA is the home of KALAMA Botanicals where anyone can purchase Traditional Hawaiian Herbal Medicines for personal use. These traditional medicinals are used to purge the toxins of the body, giving the mind, spirit and soul comfort of being. The Hawaiian medicinals that we use are kukui nut oil, 'awa root, 'olena and noni just to name a few. We specifically use kukui nut oil grown and packaged in Hawai'i in our lomi. The kukui nut oil is a very sacred oil used in Hawaiian healing modalities. The Kahuna know how strong the Hawaiian la'au are, most people do not know their strength. Kukui nut oil is very strong Hawaiian medicine.
The third aspect is a place to seek solace and receive IWI'ULA Style Lomilomi. This place is called PIKAKE. It is where the old traditional style of lomilomi is done on the floor or on the 'aina. This style of lomi incorporates specific pule and processes that provides the recipient with the Bodywork of the Soul. A depth very few bodywork modalities can attain.
The fourth aspect is the consultation of a Kahuna who is well versed in 20 distinctly different Kahuna healing modalities and techniques. Through the help of his personal aumakua and his family aumakua the Kahuna will also provide blessings and 'IKE PAPALUA (insights) when appropriate. |
